Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) is a private, historically Black, Catholic university in New Orleans. Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, it is the nation’s only Catholic HBCU. With emphases on leadership, social justice, and service, Xavier is nationally recognized for its strong programs in STEM, health sciences, and the liberal arts.
